Time and time again I've seen in-place upgrades work, but as well I've seen them cause data loss. Anyone using the same password for forums as well as other places is strongly advised to update their passwords and/or practice good personal security practices. Are you logged in under an administrative account created during the installation of Vista.. It's not an option. I kept all these files, I found it twice as fast to get a non sp Vista updated to SP2 using the manual method, saved me so much time working on Have you checked Task Manager to see the current memory and CPU usage during this "non-responsive" period?
As I've only just installed the OS, there are no other previous drivers installed.
