You can also use WIN + R to open the Run box and type it in there. July 26, 2011 Tom I used this method to get into safemode, now everytime i turn my computer on it will boot into safemode. If you need to retreive any files we use a linux bootable OS Called "Hirens". So, if you're an XP user, you may want to wait until you've tried Steps 5 through 8 before giving this a try.
